Review #499; Rye #46: Whistlepig 10yr SiB “Old Oak Liquors #1”

This is a store pig from Old Oaks Liquors. This is a 10+ year old, single barrel, cask strength rye offering from Whistlepig. Given we don’t know the age or source, lets see how it tates.

ABV: 56.35%

Nose: Musty Tobacco leaf, Rye Spice, Black Pepper, Oak Spice, Green Apple.

Palate: Rye Spice, Green Apple, oak spice, faint tobacco leaf, vanilla.

Finish: Medium length finish, warm. Rye Spice, Black Pepper, Green Apple, black pepper.

Rating: 8/10

Delicious, full of flavor, rye spice, and savory notes this rye rocks. Rich full mouthfeel, lots of green apple and green spice, with a touch of bitterness from the oak or age, this is a real winner in my books.
