Review #49; Bourbon #28: Four Roses Private Select Gordon’s OESK

Background: This Single Barrel was select by Gordons in New England. This OESK was aged for 10 years and 4 months before being bottled at cask strength.

Distilled: May 21, 2008

Barreled: June 6, 2008

Bottled: Oct 12, 2018

ABV: 59.7%

Nose: Strong, Caramel, 4R Rye spice, Brown Sugar, Oak, Slight spicyness

Palate: Thick, Oily, strong, 4r rye, black pepper, hint of baking spices, slight caramel

Finish: Long, Warm, Rye spice, black pepper, warm oak

This is yummy, hits the notes I want in a 4R while being complex and interesting. Will cherish this bottle until its gone.
