Review #489; Bourbon #121: 1792 Full Proof Loch and Key SiB Select

This is a blind review that I did, of a 1792 Full Proof picked by the Loch & Key Society.

 ABV: 62.5%

Nose: Heavy baking spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, toffee, vanilla beam, raspberry cream

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, vanilla bean, cherry, raspberry sweetness, toffee, rich caramel.

Finish: medium length finish, oak spice, dark chocolate, vanilla cream.

Rating: 6/10

A little on the sweet side but it hits the right notes, big on spices, big on sweet, with some nice oak spice rounding out the finish this is a tasty bourbon.

Guess: This is a bourbon, wheated, 52-55% abv, 6-8 years aged. Makers Mark Private Select?

Reveal: 1792 Full Proof SiB Loch and Key Society Pick

Compared to the last Full Proof I had, this one was pretty good. Well balanced, bursting with flavor, and had the heat but not too much. Overall, a pretty nice high proof offering.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
