Review #455; Rum #47: Habitation Velier Worthy Park 10yr (2007)

This rum comes to use form IB Habitation Veiler. This is a 10-year-old, 100% Pot Distiller rum aged in ex-bourbon casks. It was distilled in 2007 then bottled in 2017 with no color added, no sugar added, and was bottled at cask strength. It was distilled on the Forsyths Double Retort Pot Still and had an Ange’s share of 64%. Let us see how it tastes.

ABV: 59%

Nose: Wildflower, honey, crisp tropical fruits, mango, pineapple, vanilla, allspice, nutmeg,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Warm. Burst of Wildflower, honey, orange peel, mango, dark chocolate.

Finish: Long, warm and dry. Oak Spice, dark chocolate, floral, orange peel, allspice, black pepper, vanilla frosting,

Rating: 8/10

A truly great showing from Worthy Park. Tons of floral notes, fruits, spices, all come together to create a tasty, but light on the funk Jamaican rum that keeps you coming back to find more. Complex, well balanced, and interesting I can see why this vintage is held in such high regard.
