Review #453; Bourbon #109: E.H. Taylor Small Batch

This is one of Buffalo Traces products of their standard line. It has no age statement, but is bottled in bond, and falls to much of the usual Buffalo Trace hype machine.

ABV: 50%

Nose: Vanilla, oak spice, slight cherry, toffee.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, vanilla cream, cherry, slight oak, cinnamon.

Finish: medium length, warm, slight apple, toffee, vanilla.

Rating: 6/10

This is a quality bourbon that is just fine. It hits the usual notes that you want in a bourbon, but on the sweeter side of the flavor spectrum with lots of vanilla, cherry, and caramel that is slightly buttery. It’s not overly complex, but as always Buffalo Trace shows they know how to make a solid product.
