Review #450; Bourbon #108: Wild Turkey Masters Keep 17yr Bottled in Bond

This bottling today comes to us from Wild Turkey’s Master keep line, which is their limited release line that they have brought us things like Decades, 17 year, and Sherry finished bourbons to market. This one comes in at 17 years aged, Bottled in Bond designation. This was aged in the Camp Nelson Rickhouses. Let’s see how it holds up.

ABV: 50% ABV

Nose: Pungent, orange peel, balanced oak spice, toffee, tobacco leaf, vanilla cream, black pepper, spicy funk.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Warm. Slight Rye Spice, Black Pepper, oak character / spice. Cherry and tobacco leaf, with some faint orange peel.

Finish: Long dry finish. Warm. Oak spice, black pepper, light chocolate, leather, tobacco leaf.

Rating: 8/10

This is impressive. Turkey funk, good balanced fruits, and lots of spice and the must that you can get from a well-aged bourbon like this. If you are good with dropping the cash on this, or are a turkey fan this is a must buy. Complex flavors, pungent interesting nose, and a long delicious finish this is my favorite of the Master’s Keep series.
