This is a 6 year old teaspooned Laphroaig from A.D. Rattray. It is teaspooned with Ardbeg, was aged in a Sherry But from 4/27/2011-11/10/2017. This is bottled at cask strength, with no color added and was non-chill filtered.

ABV: 61.1%

Nose: Tame light vegetal peat, bbq meat, honey, allspice, pepper, lemon zest, campfire smoke.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Warm, Rotting vegetation, light campfire smoke, lemon zest, allspice, light figs, honey.

Finish: Medium length, warm. Lemon Zest, rotting vegetation, light figs, light campfire smoke, allspice, nutmeg.

Rating: 7/10

Overall this is tasty. For as young as it is I am surprised it is not as bold and brash in the peat department like the 10 year cask strength. This is up there in proof but is pretty well developed and complex for 6 years old. The Sherry butt imparted a good amount of flavor without veering into asking if they just threw some actual sherry into the mix.
