Review #44; Bourbon #26: Russel’s Reserve SiB Rural Inn #3

Background: This is a single barrel of Bourbon from the Wild Turkey distillery selected by Rural Inn, a liquor store in Indianapolis Indiana. The particular of this barrel which was non-chill filtered when bottled is Barrel 16-457, Rickhouse M, Floor 4-57-3

ABV: 55%

Nose: Rich Sweet Vanilla, Oak, Tobacco Leaves, corn.

Palate: Oak, Spice, black pepper, leather, spicy again with the oak finish

Finish: Medium, oak, pepper, leather, and spice dominate this finish.

A different profile than the other pick I reviewed this goes for a more spicy and oaky flavor than the sweet vanilla. I ended up liking this a little less due to the overpowering oak and slight tannins.
