Review #429; Rum #39: Rumfire

This is a high ester, overproof rum from distillery Hampden distillery based in Trelawny Jamaica

ABV: 63%

Nose: Rotting fruit funk, banana, pineapple, mango. Light cinnamon, vanilla,

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Tangy, blueberries, rotting frunk, mango, cinnamon and peppery, slight brine. Confectionary sugar.

Finish: Medium length. Tart fruits, funk, mango, pepper, confectionary sugar, vanilla frosting.

Rating: 6/10

This stuff is good, delicious, funky, and cheap. It’s good neat but where it really shines is in cocktail making. It brings that funky Jamaican punch to Daquiris and whatever else you want to add it to. This is one I will always keep on my shelf.
