Review #428; Rum #38: Doorly’s 12yr

This is a rum from the Foursquare distillery based in Barbados. It is a 12 year old rum ged in Ex-Bourbon barrels and Madeira casks. It has no sugar added to it. Let’s see how it holds up.

ABV: 40%

Nose: Caramel, fresh bread, dark chocolate, black pepper, heavy vanilla.

Palate: Light mouthfeel. Warm. Vanilla, black pepper, light pineapple, allspice.

Finish: Medium. Warm, Vanilla cream, peppery, allspice.

Rating: 5/10

This is good. Not complex, but it does well for what it should be. A nice budget option from FourSquare of their line, it has good flavor, and tastes like what I would expect the higher dollar and rare releases to taste like if they were cut to 40%.
