This is a 13 year old Ledaig offering bottled by Single Cask Nation. It was distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2018 after having been matured in a 2nd fill sherry cask. This was bottled at cask strength with no color added and was non-chill filtered.
ABV: 57.1%
Nose: Raspberry Jam, industrial smoke, light minerality, figs, brine, Vanilla bean.
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Jammy, figs, brine, industrial smoke, orange peel, minerality, rotting vegetation peat, dark chocolate.
Finish: Long and Warm. Orange Peel, briney, peaty, light smoke, a bit of earth, minerality.
Rating: 8/10
This is very well balanced, and bursts with flavor. It bursts with fruits, smoke, brine, and peat all in a way that compliments each other well. This is a fantastic drink and one I might have to acquire a full bottle of before its gone.
