Review #394; Mezcal #28: Nuestra Soledad San Luis Del Rio (2018)

This is a bottling of 100% espadin from the Nuestra Soledad line form the village of san Luis Del Rio in Oaxaca Mexico. This is the 3rd bottle of this series so lets see how this one performs.

Mezcalero: Javier Nolasco Y Rafael Mendez

Batch: RMCES100419NS

ABV: 48%

Nose: Roasted Bell Peppers, Minerality, Black Pepper, light meaty smoke.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Tangy, Minerality, Green Bell Peppers, light clean smoke, earthy, acidic.

Finish: Medium length, Warm and Dry. Spicy, Green Peppers, Minerality, Earthy, acidic.

Rating: 5/10

This is good, it has some nice flavors going on in it, but its not tasty as some of the other expressions, and has a weird off note that accompanies the palate and finish. Still a good showing though.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite
