L’Encantada Bas Armagnac XO 8eme Decade 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989 Off Premise pick
I tried this blind and was then revealed the bottle, so keep that in mind.
ABV: 45.5%
Nose: Heavy grape influence, oak spice, orange peel, allspice, vanilla,
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, orange peel, heavy grapes, nice oak spice, allspice, lemon zest.
Finish: Medium length, warm. Grape, orange peel, allspice, oak, tobacco leaf.
Rating: 7/10
Guess: Delicious, nice and heavy on the fruits, by tempered by what I think is some age. This is a well aged Armagnac between 20-24 years of age, between 48-52% abv.
This was revealed to me to be the above Lencantada bottle and I came away really impressed, and would crush a bottle of this easy.
