Review #38; Bourbon #22: Buffalo Trace Single Barrel 3rd Base Spirits Barrel #111

Background: This is a single barrel of Buffalo Trace, one of the flagship offerings from the Buffalo Trace distillery. This has no age statement but was selected by 3rd Base Spirits.

ABV: 45%

Nose: Heavy caramel and oak, very hot. Hint of earth, but heavy typical bourbon oak and vanilla

Palate: Medium, oily, vanilla and oak that are dominate. Black pepper and oak come thorugh with the sweet caramel and some trace honey underneath

Finish: Medium length that is a vanilla creaminess mixing with oak

Rating: 6/10

Guess: This was good, would guess some basic entry bourbon, typical flavors

Reveal: Buffalo Trace Single Barrel Select: 3rd Base Spirits Barrel #111

Well this was off profile for BT, a bit higher as it usually is a 5 on my scale but nice for a store pick.
