Review #342; Scotch #124: Glendronach 10yr 2008 SMWS 96.30 “Thor’s Slippers”

This is a bottling from SMWS, it is a 10 year old Glendronach SiC, Aged in an ex bourbon barrel then finished in a FF PX Sherry Hogshead. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives or chill-filtering.

ABV: 59.5%

Nose: Vanilla, Stone Fruit, Strawberry, Pepper, Spicy, pear, plum, allspice.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Pear, Spice, Pepper, Honey, wild flower.

Finish: Medium length, honey, moist fruits, pear, pepper, spice.

Rating: 6/10

This is a tasty fruit forward, if simple dram. It’s a great burst of flavor, balanced, and overall a nice offering.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite
