Review #337; Bourbon #95: Pappy Van Winkle 15yr (2019)

Pappy Van Winkle 15 (2019)

This doesn’t need much introduction, but this is the famed and chased Pappy Van Winkle 15 from Buffalo Trace. It is a 15 year old Wheated Bourbon, lets see if it holds up to the hype.

ABV: 53.5%

Nose: Tobacco Leaf, Wheat “Funk” Oak Spice, Vanilla, Dark Chocolate,

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Cherry, Vanilla, Black Pepper, Oak, Dark Chocolate,

Finish: Medium Length, Black Pepper, Oak, Tobacco Leaf, Vanilla Frosting.

Rating: 7/10

BT shows, and everyone knows they can make some pretty good Bourbon. As will all BT items this is not worth secondary, not even close. This is tasty and shows some good depth, the wheat funk and cherry play well with the usual bourbon notes. While this is a good bourbon, it is not worth secondary at all.
