Review #327; Irish Whiskey #4: Bushmills Distillery Reserve 12yr

This was reviewed blindly, so keep that in mind while reading these notes.

This is a 12 year old offering from bushmills, available only at the distiller, aged in ex-sherry and ex bourbon casks.

ABV: 40%

Nose: Very Faint nose, vanilla, Grass, Shortbread.

Palate: Thinnish mouthfeel, Grassy, Bready, vanilla.

Finish: Short, slight vanilla, some grass.

Rating: 4/10

This is light and easy to drink. I can see why someone would like this, but I wish it had more flavor.

Guess: An Irish Whiskey of some kind, 40-46% abv, 4-6 years old.

Reveal: Bushmills Distillery Reserve 12 Year

I don’t drink very much Irish, but I can (decently) tell when I do. I wish I could try some of these Irish whiskeys at Cask Strength, or even above 50%.
