Review #317; Scotch #113: Wolfburn Northland

This is the first general release from Wolfburn, Scotland’s northernmost distillery. It is 3 years old, and was partially aged in Islay quarter casks. Non Chill Filtered and no color added.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Hay, Shortbread, allspice, Oak Spice.

Palate: Medium Mouthfeel. Shortbread, oak spice, tart apple, heavy cinnamon Slight Greenwood.

Finish: Short, vanilla, some lemon zest, pepper.

Rating: 4/10

This tastes a bit young, and may be a tad on the thin side flavorwise, but for 3 years old this is tasty. Not overly interesting or out of this world, but I would be interested in seeing how this tasted with some more age/ other cask use. However, it is so sweet on taste its almost like sugar was throw in or something (not accusing but this stuff is crazy sweet)
