Review #28; Rye #9: EH Taylor Rye

Background: This is a straight rye bottled by Buffalo Trace but likely sourced. It is rumored to be almost all rye with some malted barley for the mashbill.

ABV: 50%

Nose: Vanilla, Spicy Rye, Honey, Baking Spices, Light Fruits, Oak

Palate: Rye and baking spices. Sweet and vanilla turns into the rye and spice with oak and leather in the back with some more Rye spice

Finish: Medium length of oak, spice, and leather.

A nice classic Rye, this hits everything you want in a rye in a well-balanced fashion. The main knock on this is the standard complaint of all Buffalo Trace Products, hard to find and overpriced if you can.
