Review #278; Bourbon #85: Stagg Jr. Batch 13

Stagg Jr Batch 13

This is a mystery review, so keep that in mind as you read the notes below.

ABV: 64.2%

Nose: Black Pepper, Spicy, Rye hint, tobacco leaf, Vanilla

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, Heat, Spicy, Slight Chocolate, Vanilla frosting, oak spice, Toffee, black tea.

Finish: Medium length, Pepper, slight allspice, vanilla frosting. Oak, and tobacco leaf.

Rating: 7/10

Guess: This is a high proof bourbon, some good flavors in there and the heat is not too overpowering. I’m gonna go ahead and guess this is Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof, 62+% ABV.

Reveal: Stagg Jr Batch 13

Oh damn this is a really good. I didn’t get any of the cherry I normally get in Buffalo Trace products but this stuff is awesome. Would love to have a bottle of this myself.
