Review #264; Bourbon #82: Elijah Craig Raleigh Bourbon and Banter Pick (10yr)

This is a barrel pick by a group out Raleigh that I tasted blind and then was revealed the dram after.

ABV: 47%

Nose:, Spicy, Black Pepper, Vanilla frosting, Slight Leather

Palate: Medium, oily mouthfeel. Heat, Peanuts. Slight Vanilla, Black Pepper, Spicy.

Finish: Medium length, warm, Heat, Vanilla Frosting, Slight Oak, Nutty, Pepper.

Rating: 6/10

Guess: Brash, High Proof, Nutty. This reminds me of booker or knob creek in some way. I’m pretty sure this a bookers batch of some kind.

Reveal: Elijah Craig Raleigh Bourbon and Banter 10 Year

Well this was surprising, this drinks way above it’s proof but is overall a nice small step up from the standard EC shelf offering.
