Review #262; Scotch #89: Blackadder Peat Reek Raw Cask(2013)

This is a single cask release from Blackadder, it is a non disclosed sourced Isaly Malt and is one of 216 bottles drawn at cask strength from a single oak hogshead and bottled in July of 2013.

ABV: 60.6%

Nose: Light Sweet Peat, Brine, Oak Spice. Pledge Wipes, Campfire Smoke, Citrus Zest.

Palate: Thick and oily mouthfeel. Rich Savory Clean Peat, Campfire Smoke, Figs, Oak Spice, Black Pepper. Orange Zest. Dark Chocolate.

Finish: Medium Length, Clean Savory Peat, Dark Chocolate, Orange Zest, Black Pepper, Slight Antiseptic.

Rating: 9/10

This is really quite exceptional, the peat and smoke are delicious and clean, and the other flavors shine through as well especially the chocolate and the citrus. Delicious as hell, now give me more.
