This is a barrel proof offering from Buffalo Trace of the mashbill of the line including Eagle Rare and Stagg Jr. Let’s see how well it holds up. This is batch 6 of the current releases.

ABV: 64.05%

Nose: Strong Vanilla Frosting, Oak, Cherry Cola, Slight Spice, Slight Tobacco Leaf.

Palate: Thick and oily mouthfeel, Cherry Cola, Vanilla Frosting, Oak.

Finish: Medium Length, warm, Strong Cherry, Vanilla Frosting, Oaky wood spice.

Rating: 7/10

This is really good, the strong flavors are there, but it’s not overpowering heat like some of the Stagg Jr. Batches I’ve had as this is really well balanced. Insert the usual rant about distribution and availability but this is a good and tasty product.
