Review #26; Rye #7: High West Bourye 2018

Background: This is a blend of Straight Rye and Bourbon Whiskies aged 10 to 14 years, sourced from MGP, and bottled by High West.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Vanilla, Caramel, oak, honey, citrus, rye spice, black pepper.

Palate: Medium mouth feel. Grain, vanilla, oak, pepper and citrus.

Finish: Dry, short. Hint of rye spice overpowered by oak and leather. Typical of what you would expect a bourbon finish to be.

Kind of strange. There is a hint of a rye behind the bourbon but you have to search for it. A good but otherwise not exceptional drink. At the price it is at, I would not buy it.
