This is a cask strength bottling of the Peat’s Beast blend, aged in PX Sherry for an unknown amount of time before being bottled at cask strength. I had this blind then was shown the bottle.
ABV: 54.1%
Nose: Clean light peat, earthy, honey, vanilla, meaty
Palate: Medium Oily Mouthfeel, peat, meaty, earthy, lemon zest, vanilla. Iodine, raisins.
Finish: Clean Light Peat, meaty, lemon zest, slight medicinal note.
Rating: 6/10
Guess: A good showing, nice peat and vanilla flavors with some earthiness. Ex-Bourbon cask, 9-11 years old, 46-50% abv. Cao Ila?
Reveal: Peats Beast Batch Strength PX, I was slightly off and not picking up very much of the px influence in this, but overall for the price I wouldn’t mind grabbing this.
