Review #239; Scotch #79: Glenfarlcas 7yr SMWS 1.209 2011

This Glenfarclas was aged in a Refill Hogshead, aged for 7 years, and had an allocation of 108 bottles.  It was bottled at cask strength with no chill filtering and no additives.  I had this blind then was revelaed the bottle.

ABV: 64.9%

ABV: 64.9%

Nose: Buttery, Biscuts

Palate: Warm, Medium Mouthfeel, Biscuits, grass, Butter.

Finish: Warm, Medium, Biscuts, Butter, Honey, and Vanilla.

Rating: 5/10

This tastes pretty young, and is fairly light in flavor to me. Good flavor is there but needs more age.

Guess: Young 3-6 year old single malt, 55-58% abv. Some Irish Single Cask?

Reveal: SMWS “Waxing a Hot Woodsman” 7 Year Old Glenfarclas

Interesting and fun to try! However to my taste I’ve found the Glenfarclas just to be ok and this one needs more age to me.
