Review #234; Scotch #76: Springbank Green 13yr

Springbank Green 13

This is a series from Springbank, with the green color indicating the barley used in the production was organic. It was matured for 13 years in sherry casks.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Plums, Honey, slight springbank funk, baking spice, raisins, light smoke.

Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel, warm, Honey, Plums, Red berries, funk, spices, cereals, light smoke, malt.

Finish: Medium length, Raisins, funk, honey, cereals, and light smoke that fades into a warm slight apple finish.

Rating: 6/10

A nice tasty dram. Enough complexity there to be interesting. For a “limited” release of 9000 bottles I think I was looking for something more interesting, but nevertheless this would be a nice bottle to have.
