Review #224; Scotch #69: Bowmore 12yr 2004 SMWS 3.309

SMWS 3.309 “Peat Smoke, Pipe Ash, and Pata Negra

This is from Bowmore, Distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2017. It was aged in a 2nd fill Ex-Bourbon Hogshead. Let’s dive in and see how it holds up.

ABV: 56.2%

Nose: Sweet, slighty campfire peat, Vanilla, Caramel, Honey, Slight ash, Tart Berries.

Palate: Thick and oily mouthfeel, warm, Sweet Campfire smoke and peat, Vanilla, ash, honey. Slight Brine.

Finish: Medium length, Sweet peat, slight tangy citrus, vanilla, ash, Campfire smoke, tart berries.

Rating: 7/10

This is pretty tasty, the flavors here are a bit unbalanced but this is a tasty dram. Not sure if its worth the price point of entry but a well made bottle.
