Review #218; Mezcal #8: Bozal Tobasiche

This is made with Wild Tobasiche, which takes 12-13 years to grow. They then use the traditional process of cooking the agave in clay oven pits before smashing the hearts with a wheel. Wild yeast ferments before it is bottled. Let’s dive in and see how this spirit holds up!

ABV: 47%

Nose: Light and flora, honey, nectarines, Earthy.

Palate: Thick and oily mouthfeel. Floral, honey, mineral, earthy, peppery,

Finish: Medium length, peppery, mineraly, clay, slight honey and floralness.

Rating: 7/10

This stuff is tasty and refreshing, the slight fruit hints play well with the main mineral earthiness and pepper notes in there to pull of a very tasty flavor profile that I could come back to easily.
