Glendronach 1993 Cask #13

This is a 20 year old Single Cask Glendronach Offering. Distilled in January 1993 and bottled in September 2013. It was aged in an Olroso Sherry Butt. Lets see how well it holds up.

ABV: 52.6%

Nose: Strong Fruits, Figs, Plums, Baking Spices, slight tobacco note, heavy allspice and nutmeg,

Palate: Thick, oily mouthfeel, Strong Figs, dark chocolate, Raisins, tobacco leaf, oak, malty, allspice, other baking spices.

Finish: Medium length, warm, baking spices, slight figs, tobacco leaf, oak, and dark chocolate.

Rating: 9/10

This is an incredible representation of a great Olroso cask. The heaviness of the spices, the dark chocolate, and the fruits come together to make an incredibly flavorful dram that is well balanced. The flavors play off each other and well, and I’m a sucker for Olroso. If I had a full bottle of this it would be gone in a hurry.
