This is a 4 year old rye from Bardstown Distillers, bottled under their Willet line. I had this blind then was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind.
ABV: 63%
Nose: Strong Herbal Rye, Black Pepper, Green Apple, Orange Citrus, Oak
Palate: Medium, oily mouthfeel. Heat, all spice, Herbalness, Black pepper, citrus, slight green apple
Finish: Medium Legnth, black pepper, allspice, nutmeg, herbalness, slight green apple and vanilla. Warm and dry.
Rating: 7/10
Guess: This hits all of the notes I want in a rye. Spicy, herbal, some heat to it, and those baking spices that balance everything out.
I think this is a high rye recipe, between 56-59% abv, and a minimum 4 years aged. New Riff SiB Rye?
