Distillation: October 2015

This is an Ensamble offering from Tio Rey, with the Agave being 70% Espadin, 18% Coyote, 8% Mexicano, and 4% Barril. Let’s see how it tastes!

ABV: 50.8%

Nose: Peppers, Black Pepper, Spice, Clay, Tart Lemon Sweetness, Slight Vanilla, Agave Sweetness, Red Berries, Earth.

Palate: Medium Oily Mouthfeel, Black Pepper, Clay, Tart Lemon, Vanilla, Earthy.

Finish: Medium Length, Agave Sweetness, Pepper, Clay, Earth, Tartness. Fades into a warm dry spicy pepper (veggie not spice).

Rating: 7/10

This is really tasty. The earthiness and clay provide a savory aspect that is balanced with the spciyness and slight fruit notes that are in it. This goes for a more savory flavor and really shines.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.
