The Wolf of Badenoch 12

This whisky is named after Alexander Stewart, the 14th century Earl of Buchan and former Justiciar of Scotia, who gained the name for his extraordinary ruthless streak. This reached its zenith when he burnt down the centre of whisky production itself, Elgin.

This is a just ok whisky. The flavors are there but not jumping out at you, the mouthfeel is a bit thin but overall this wouldn’t be bad as a whiskey to pour to maybe introduce people or if I had a bottle, I want a drink but don’t want to think about it and throw it in a glass. It has some nice sweet flavors in there but everything just feels very muted and watered down.
I can’t speak to the chill filtering, but would love to try this at cask strength, I feel the more interesting qualities of the ex-prunelle cask would really pop.
