Review #186; Scotch #59: Clynelish 20yr 1996 Signatory Vintage

Background: This is a 20 year old Clynelish, bottled by an independent bottler and aged in a refill butt.  I had this blind then was revealed the bottle so keep that in mind.

ABV: 46%

Nose: Tartness, over ripe blueberries, slightly savory, honey, floralness

Palate: Medium but oily mouthfeel, light smoke, Vanilla, berries, floralness. Not very hot.

Finish: Shortish, Light smoke, tartness, vanilla and berries.

Rating: 6/10

Guess: This is perfectly alright, price point dependanet I would not mind having a bottle around to drink. I’m going to guess this is a 8-12 year old Scotch, FF Satuernes Cask, Lightly Peated, and 46-48%.

Reveal: Clynelish 20 – 1996 Signatory Vintage.  Welp I was very far off on this one, off on age, off on cask, throw me away! as I said I think its good but doesn’t jump out in any way.
