Review #170; Scotch #58: Compass Box Great King Street Highland Malt Marrying Cask

Compass Box Great King Street Artists Blend Single Marrying Cask (Unholy Triumvirate) Club

This is a store pick single marrying cask from Norfolk Wine & Spirits, one of the 4 they did. I will be reviewing all of them.

Compass Box GKS Artsit Blend contains the following blend of whisky

• Grain whisky from Cameronbridge in FF American Standard Barrel (46.2%)

• FF Bourbon Hogshead Malt Whisky from Clynelish (29.7%)

• Custom Toasted New French Oak of Highland Malt Blend (16.1%)

• Malt Whisky from Linkwood in a Sherry Butt (8%) This was then married together for a year in a Highland Whisky marrying cask with a yield of 240 bottles. NCF and NCA

Type: Highland Malt Whisky

ABV: 49%

Nose: Vanilla Sweetness, Floral, Cereals, Slight Sulfur, Honey.

Palate: Nice, oily mouthfeel, Honey, plum, Floral, Creamy Vanilla

Finish: Medium Length, Honey, Vanilla, Floral, Oak

Rating: 6/10

This is good, Im not sure how much the marrying shines through but this is a good value. The higher proof on this lends to the flavors, but doesn’t overpower you with heat. I would buy a bottle of this if I could and will keep my eye out for picks.

1 | Disgusting | So bad I poured it out.

2 | Poor | I wouldn’t consume by choice.

3 | Bad | Multiple flaws.

4 | Sub-par | Not bad, but better exists.

5 | Good | Good, just fine.

6 | Very Good | A cut above.

7 | Great | Well above average

8 | Excellent | Really quite exceptional.

9 | Incredible | An all time favorite

10 | Perfect | Perfect
