Background: This is a Scotch that has been aged in Oloroso Sherry butts before being bottled at cask strength with no color added and was non-chill filtered. I had this blind so keep that in mind reading my notes.
ABV: 59.9%
Nose: Very strong plum nose, allspice, slight blackberry, honey, slight Sulphur
Palate: Medium mouthfeel, Heat, plums, cereal, malt, honey sweetness, syrup
Finish: Plum, Heat, Cereal, spice, black pepper, mocha note that lingers for awhile.
Rating: 7/10
Overall I like this. The flavors are good, the heat is manageable, and the plum and cereal notes all come together for a tasty treat. Guess: Single Malt, Ex-Oloroso Cask finish, 56-60%, 9-13 years of age. IB Glenlivet?
Reveal: Aberlour A’Bunadh Batch 62
I like this, good flavors and reminds me a bit of the Glenlivet Nadurra Olroso. Would not mind having a bottle at all.
