Review #148; Scotch #47: Octomore 7.2

Background: This is a travel retail exclusive of Octomore. It has a PPm of 208. This was aged for 5 years in American Oak and as well as Ex-Syrah Wine casks.

ABV: 58.5%

Nose: Briskety peat, smoke, brine, citrus, tartness, young red grapes.

Palate: Briskety Meaty Peat, sweet smoke, grape sweetness, tart, citrus, brine

Finish: Medium/Long, BBQ Peat, smoke, grape sweetness, creamy vanilla, and brine.

Flavors are well balanced, the Peat and brine pair well with the fruity, citrusy tarty flavors to marry well together. The youth of this helps the peat be strong and in your face but much more delicate than the other offerings I have had.
