Review #141; American Whiskey #4: Watershed Old Fashioned Pre-Mixed

Background: This is a pre bottled old fashioned from Watershed distillery located in Columbus Ohio. It has Bourbon, Bitters, Sugar, and Cherry Juice and is intended to be poured over ice and drank. I had this blind, so keep that in mind while reading my review.

ABV: 35%

Nose: Spice, Cloves, Nutmeg, allspice, Cinnamon, Oak

Palate: Thin Mouthfeel, Cinnamon, allspice, Oak. There really isn’t much here.

Finish: Short, Spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg.

Rating: 3/10

This is thin, very spicy, and so cinnamon driven that there is now way there Is no flavoring added to this whiskey.

Guess: This is a high rye, young rye or bourbon. Overpowering spices makes me think maybe aged in a small barrel or a flavor added Whiskey. 40-45% ABV. 4 Years old Max.

Reveal: Old Fashoned from Watershed Distillery

Kind of surprised at this but not too much. A craft distillery offering a premade old fashioned with their bourbon as the base was probably bound to fall flat anyway.
