Review #126; Scotch #34: Laphroaig Cairdeas 2018

Background: I had this blind so keep that in mind while reading my notes. This was aged in a combination of Ex-bourbon and ex-fino casks.

ABV: 51.8%

Nose: Lightly peated, sweet smoke, floral, honey, mesquite, heat.

Palate: Oily and good mouthfeel, Mix of sweet peat and smoke, honey, floralness, bit of ash on the back end.

Finish: Medium length, ash, peat and smoke.

This is decent and easy to drink. Nothing too crazy to me but stands out as a decent peated offering.

Rating: 6/10

Guess: I would guess this to be Caol Ila, ex bourbon finish, 8-12 years, 48-52%

Reveal: Laphoraig Cairdeas Fino
