Review #125; Bourbon #49: Four Roses OBSQ Total Wine Single Cask

Background: This is an 11 year old Four Roses Bourbon of the OBSQ recipe. This single cask was selected by a total wine and bottled at cask strength. I had this blind so keep that in mind while reading my notes.

Nose: Spiceness, creamy vanilla, tobacco leaves, oak, leather

Palate: Medium mouthfeel, wet but not oily, Spice, leather, tobacco leaves, creamy vanilla, black pepper

Finish: Long, wet, tobacco, leather, vanilla, oak.

I really like this, there’s this spiciness kind of funk to it, the vanilla is sweet but is balanced by the other flavors. Delicious if a bit straightforward and simple.

Rating: 6/10

Guess: Wild Turkey of some kind, RRSiB or maybe one of their export bottles. Between 55-60% abv.

Reveal: 4 Roses SiB OBSO Total Wine 11 Years “Total Wine”
