Background: This rum comes to us by way of American independent bottler Hamilton. This particular rum comes from Demerara distillers located in Guyana. This rum has been aged for a short time, had caramel coloring added to it, then bottled mainly for the bartender / cocktail market. I had this blind so keep that in mind reading my notes.
ABV: 43%
Nose: Fruity nose, Pineapple, a bit astringent, oak, citrus, tart over-ripe blueberries,
Palate: Medium oily mouthfeel. Nutmeg, Pineapple, oak, tartness, pleasant astringents, brown sugar
Finish: Short finish, tartness, grapes, pineapple that fades out fast.
This is a fine if basic offering, the pineapple notes stand out but I now this is not a plantation stiggins pineapple rum offering. The brown sugar and molasses note stand out.
Fine, if a bit overly sweet with a short finish. Not bad to have on hand but not something I think I would drink regularly
Rating: 4/10
Guess: Pineapple Rum of some sort
