I do enjoy both of these; however, my preference leans toward the 1995 bottle. The 1998 is delicious and sweet, providing a good fruit complexity with some oak to go along with it. It’s a delicious, easy to drink that keeps you coming back for more.
The 1995 on the other hand, has this deep dark chocolate note, the creamy vanilla with fruit hints that appeals to me more. Not that I don’t love sweetness but I find the more savory, chocolate, rich flavors of the 1995 to be more aligned towards my palate. Both of these picks are tasty and I applaud the Aficionados picking team in their selections.
