Review #106; Scotch #25: Laphroaig Cairdeas 2018

This is the yearly limited release that Laphroaig, 2018s being matured in ex-bourbon and ex-fino casks.

ABV: 51.8%

Nose: Warm thick peat, honey, pears, citrus, ash, honeydew, medicinal hint, bacon.

Palate: Peat, bacon, medicinal, honey, ash, pears. Well balanced and very good. Dry on the back end.

Finish: Long, medicinal, warm peat, ash and honey.

This is well balanced and delicious. The sweet of the fino casks is well balanced by the strong medicinal peat flavors of the Laphroaig spirit. Compared to the 2017 Cairdeas this is much better and I wish I had a full bottle.
