Review #1410; Rum #709
Here we have another bottling of rum from Renaissance Disitllery in Taiwan. This rum was distilled from molasses, fermented for 10 days with dunder, and was double distilled on a Charentais pot still. It was put into a Noble Rot cask that was shaved, toasted, and charred before aging for 5 years in a tropical climate. It was then bottled at cask strength with no additives.
Distillery: Renaissance
Bottler: Renaissance
Region: Taiwan
Still: Pot
ABV: 66.0%
Nose: Orange Peel, Soy Sauce, Star Anise, Black Pepper, Clove

Rating: 8/10
Renaissance just seems to have consistent hits and high quality bottles. This Noble Rot brings a more fruit forward balance while that weird funk is still there to make things interesting. This one is one you could sip all night without blowing out your palate, for me anyway.
