This bottle of rum comes from the Renaissance distillery located in Taiwan. This rum was distilled from molasses in 2018 from Taiwanese sugarcane. It then was fermented for 20 days with dunder. It was distilled two times on a Charentais pure pot still before being aged in Limousin new oak for 3 years and then underwent a 2nd maturation in a first fill Bas-Armagnac for another 3 years. It aged entirely at origin and was bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Finish: Long Finish, Lemon Zest, Blackberry Jam, Cherry, Dark Chocolate, Leather, Nutmeg, Allspice, Umami, Orange Peel
Rating: 8/10
Renaissance has once again bottled and released another excellent and compelling rum. Dark fruits, spices, heavy dark chocolate and leather. What they are able to do with their rums is nothing short of incredible given how new the distillery is. Their dedication to high quality casks, long fermentation times, and the aging environment is just amazing. Now we just need to try some unaged distillate from them.
