Reivew #638: Gin #16: Oakland Spirits Co. Sea Gin

The third gin I am trying from Oakland Spirits Co. Like their other gins, this one is made from a grape based distillate.

ABV: 45%

Nose: Heavy Brine, Seaweed, Lemon grass, black pepper, faint pine.

Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Ocean Spray, Seaweed, Lemon Grass, Black Pepper

Finish: Medium length finish. Heavy Umami, Brine, Seaweed, lemon grass, black pepper, faint pine

Rating: 6/10

Overall, this is an above average Gin, and my favorite of the 3 from Oakland. I tend to value uniqueness and this hits that for me. I’m no cocktail expert but I think this would be a fun ingredient to play with and it really does evoke the idea of hanging out on the beach at nighttime for me. They really nailed the flavor profile they were going for.
