Review #1488; Rum #787
This sample was provided to me by a producer, distributor, or some other industry source free-of-charge. No compensation, outside of the sample, was received and there were no strings attached. This was the leftover bottle from a tasting I was unable to attend, and a friend held this for me to try.
This is a single cask bottling from Raising Glasses that was bottled by Nobilis for them. This is a molasses rum that was distilled on a copper pot column still at Hampden Estate. This rum is the C<>H marque which clock in at 1300-1400 gr/HLPA, the 2nd highest at Hampden Estate. This rum aged for 6 years before being bottled at cask strength with no additives.

Another incredible bottling from Hampden Estate. This is one of the most well balanced high ester rums I’ve had from Hampden. It manages to burst with bright fruits and a bit of vanilla while keeping a little bit of that industrial backbone that is tempered by the oak. A big batch of buttery popcorn and pineapple really help to round it out without going into overly acidic territory.
