Review #1032; Rum #361
Pere Labat Single Cask Rhum 12yr 2009
This rhum comes to us from the Poisson Distillerie located on the island of Marie-Galante which is a part of Guadeloupe. This rum was distilled in 2009 from fresh pressed sugar cane juice. It then aged in an ex-bourbon cask for 12 years in the tropical environment the distillery and ageing warehouses occupy before being bottled at cask strength with no additives for the US market by PM Spirits.

Rating: 9/10
This is the 2nd exceptional long aged agricole rhum I have had this week. This is incredibly flavorful and well balanced. Bright fruits, an impressive amount of vegetal / herbal flavor considering the 12 years in oak in a tropical environment. Heavy savory flavors via dark chocolate and some pops of espresso. The price on this is very high, but that is how these really old agricole rhums are. This is the best aged agricole I have ever had.
