Neta Tepextate TPXHMG2003

Review #1235; Mezcal #79

This mezcal was produced by  Hermógenes Vásquez + Paula Aquino Sánchez. They harvested 70 pinas of wild Tepextate into this 160 liter batch. This was a mix of quiotudo and guía Tepextate that were then fermented in vats and distilled. This was bottled by Neta, a bottler who works closely with a number of families within Oaxaca.

Overall, this is a crisp and refreshing mezcal. Balanced, packed full of flavor, and pretty easy to keep sipping on. While high quality, it lacks some of the depth and nuance some of my personal favorites tend to have, but this was still a great release from Neta.
