Kill Devil Hampden 17 Year <>H 2001

Review #1290; Rum #595

Here we have a bottling from Kill Devil, and independent rum bottling brand owned by Hunter Laing. This is a single cask of rum that was distilled from molasses on a pot still at Hampden Estate in the Trelawny Parish, Jamaica. It aged for most of it life in Europe in an ex-bourbon cask before it was bottled at cask strength with no additives for The Whisky Barrel.

Hampden is my favorite distillery and we see no surprise here this is another great example of why. Great flavors, that classic pineapple, a bit of glue. Just a real funky rum that has been tamped a bit by the oak.
